Academic Tutoring

Students K-12 work for 60 minute sessions with experienced educators who tailor the lessons and the format to each student’s learning style and needs. 

  • 60 minutes of one-on-one structured, multi-sensory, individualized, direct instruction

  • 60 minutes of structured, multi-sensory, individualized, direct instruction with 1-3 students working on the same skill or level

  • 60 minutes of a guided session with 1-5 students focused on the same concept for an upcoming assessment or on the same skill, such as, note taking, test taking, etc.

  • 30-60 minutes of 1-5 students working on a particular topic, such as, handwriting, cursive, reader’s theater etc. for a limited period of time.

Homeschool Support

Students 11-18 years old have the flexibility to attend 2-4 days a week for any duration between 9:00a and 3:00p. Attendance is not mandatory providing flexibility for those students needing to prioritize specialists appointments, sports commitments and mental health.

    • Utilize a curriculum that their family carefully selected for their individual needs

    • Build positive relationships as a member of a small community of learners

    • Have dedicated academic support

    • Learn at their own pace 

    • Learn in a calm, safe environment

    • Take breaks as needed

    • Take ownership of their learning and subject matter

    • Have a voice in group activities and community processes

    • Have access to a network of volunteer, intern and apprentice opportunities

    • Be guided in their future pursuit of college, military or other career paths

    • Choose and provide a homeschool program for their student’s specific needs (assistance is available)

    • Have an advocate to help navigate homeschool requirements

    • Know that their student is safely monitored and academically supported

    • Have regular meetings with learning coaches to discuss progress and goals

    • Have a connection to other families that have chosen this education style

  • The center is open 9:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Thursday and follows the KGCS school calendar in regard to weather related closures. Members have the flexibility to choose 1,2,3 or 4 days of attendance. They can use the center at any time and duration on the days of their selected plan.

  • Will be open throughout the year. Upon receipt of an application an interview will be scheduled. If there are no openings at the time of application the student will be waitlisted. A submitted application and/or waitlisting does not imply guaranteed admittance.

  • Students and families will sign an agreement defining behavior expectations. If repeated violations do not improve with counseling then termination of membership may occur.

    Students are required to participate in daily community clean up and weekly community meetings if present on the day of the meeting.

  • Families will be responsible for providing the homeschool curriculum of their choice, a laptop if required and/or any other school supplies needed to accomplish their daily studies.

  • Membership is kept small, therefore a non-refundable deposit is required upon registration to retain a student’s participation. Members will choose how many days they plan to attend and pricing will reflect the number chosen. The academic year is from August to May. A discount is provided for siblings. Please contact us for the daily rate. 

    A legal and binding contract for all of the above will be signed by the parent or legal guardian.
